What is coconut oil good for ?

I used to eat coconut fruit, its tasty , fresh and sweet. I never though it will be a popular product and people will be needing it badly to cure some of their disease. Now, i realized that coconut oil has a lot of good benefits, but then i am using it for one of the best thing that i really need for.

  • Coconut oil is good for dandruff treatment
  • Applying coconut oil into your hair is good for hair growth since it promotes a healthy strong hair
  • Its good for getting rid of eyebrow and scalp dandruff

For me that is a lot already but sure there are more good things from coconut and its oil.

Removing Scalp Scales Hair Comes Off With It ?

Hi Guys, John here, today i received a question from 1 of my youtube video which i remove the scalp skin scale using a fine tooth comb.

The question reads below ...

Question Summary -> Will Removing Scalp Scales Without Using comb Help Scalp Back To Normal and git rid of scales?

My Answer
hi, id like you to know that i only use coconut oil and head & shoulders anti-dandruff shampoo, and with this video blog progress i'm trying to stick to these 2 products for 1 month, i started my video blog January 22, 2014 and showed 2 video results...which is Jan 30, and Feb 9 video results ..

so my advise to you is try to use fewer products so you know what really works for you, different people have different scalp sensitivity and i guess you are the only person can test which product to use and observe..

no need to use comb, you can just peel off your scales using your finger but be sure to wash it first.. be sure that your scalp is wet and soft already before you remove it, don't try to rub it very hard that might cause your hair to go with the scale... don't force to remove your scalp scales it might pull more hair and create an open wounds ...

I'd like you to know that though lately i have an amazing dandruff treatment result using coconut oil... i'm not really saying you should only use coconut oil, what i'm saying that you should observe what works for you and use each product for like 3 weeks each or even 1 month, so you can really make good decision based on your experiment .. and before using each of them, do try to read about their ingredients ...

using many products at the same time will confuse you ...

-- I'm no expert on getting your scalp normal once again, nor expert on getting rid of scales permanently... -- since my video blog progress is very new, it's not even 1 month old ... but i hope my videos and this answer helps a little...

But to bring back the health of your scalp and get rid of scalp scales, i strongly suggest that you go to a Doctor or Dermatologist, they can give you more specific and safe answer ...

I hope this answer helps .... please do comments below ...

Scalp Folliculitis Treatment Using Organic Coconut Oil

Guys, John here, i did mention that i have an itchy bump at the back scalp which is reddish .. by the way this is not my scalp since my Scalp Folliculitis is now healing. I'm starting to think that this scalp problem is not really curable but can be controlled since it keeps on coming back. Other than head & shoulders anti-dandruff shampoo, I did not use any dandruff shampoo yet though im planning to buy Nizoral and Selsun blue.

I treated my folliculitis before using organic coconut oil from local store and now im using hair coat virgin coco as a treatment. It still do heal the itchy bump little by little...I have seen some youtube videos that i think  are severe folliculitis and im confused if scalp cellulitis is the same or the severe version of my scalp disease but i hope it wont get there please...

What does coconut oil do for hair ?

This question is really making me laugh, why? Cause I make a video blog progress of me about coconut oil for hair without also knowing what does the coconut oil really do to my hair ? and sometimes i write and make videos talking about my dandruff and bumps in my scalp...

I just realized that people visiting my vlog must have different intention and maybe also confused as to what really my blog is all about...

To be honest with you...

1. I have a dandruff problem and itchy bumps at the back of my scalp.
2. All i know if coconut oil solve dandruff so i made a coconut oil for hair video blog (which i think it should be coconut oil for dandruff treatment video blog progress)

Though I am applying coconut oil into my scalp thinking to cure my dandruff, my blog title stays the same coconut oil for hair ...anyway let it be.

Anyway .. i search on the internet and found out that what coconut oil really do is

1. Coconut oil has a Lauric acid that can penetrate into the hair shaft or hair cortex which improves hair strength by binding hair proteins so it wont break easily so you will have a long hair
2. Coconut oil moisturizes the hair shaft so it protects from breaking it.
3. Coconut oil has vitamin E which help my dandruff problem hahah

Now Does coconut oil really promote hair growth ? i search that on internet later... time to play ping pong...

Is Dandruff Curable like Permanent Cure ?

The Cure - the Band not Cure for Dandruff .... hehehe That's the Cure's vocalist hairstyle, he don't have a dandruff like me and you.

Is there a permanent cure for dandruff ? is it curable forever ? Let us examine the meaning of the word CURE = Restoration of health, recovery from disease. so the answer is YES, but is there a permanent cure for dandruff, well for now NOT YET, in the future maybe YES... Why I say so? Cause I am hopeful and there is an ongoing scientific study for it.

You see, the cause of dandruff is a fungus called Malassezia Globosa .
Dr. Joseph Mercola said that the makers of "head and shoulders dandruff shampoo" is trying to analyzed the Lipases that the dandruff fungus uses, that produces a byproduct oleic acid that triggers the shedding of scalp skin cells that hopefully lead to a new treatment for dandruff. So in the future there will be understanding of how to cure dandruff permanently.

Also The ingredients of Selsun Blue which is selenium and the ingredient of head and shoulders that is zinc are capable of killing Malassezia Globosa dandruff fungus, if you leave these anti-dandruff shampoo overnight.

The killing of the dandruff fungus and research on Lipases enzyme will hopefully lead to the permanent cure for dandruff.

We were not born with dandruff but once we are exposed to it, we always ask how we can get rid of dandruff fast, but i think we should also learn how in the first place we were able to get dandruff, so as to minimize its growth.

Most of the answer to the question - is dandruff curable ? is NO, but i prefer to say Not yet but sure its controllable by using the best anti-dandruff shampoos.

Is Dandruff a Fungus ?

I read an article from Dr. Joseph M Mercola Do website.. an it says YES Dandruff is CAUSED by a Fungus but dandruff itself is not the fungus since dandruff is the shedding of scalp skin..

The fungus name is .......drum roll ............ Malassezia Globosa

The real cause of dandruff is a yeast-like fungus called Malassezia globosa which eats skin oils. Dandruff fungus uses lipases which creates a by-product oleic acid which is a fatty acid which triggers the shedding of scalp skin cells.

Dr. Mercola suggested that that we need to leave selenium or zinc overnight into our scalp since those both kills Malassezia Globosa dandruff fungus. He recommended Selsun Blue and head and shoulder .

hmm with that being said, i guess i need to take a look at Selsun blue reviews too and add it to my list of best dandruff shampoo...

The quest to kill Malassezia Globosa dandruff fungus is on-going ... may humans win this battle ...

Small Red Itchy Bumps On Back Scalp Treatment

Hi Guys, John here, but the above Itchy bumps on the back of the scalp picture is not mine, but i mentioned that i have  that itchy bump on scalp problem too in my first video and its has a bad smell into it that i maybe mistakenly called it scalp psoriasis. This post is about treatment for small red itchy bumps on the back of scalp since just today i did research about the cause of it and the solution for it.

I think that the small red itchy bump on my scalp is just a dandruff not really scalp psoriasis after reading and looking at the difference of the pictures on the net.

I read an article from yahoo voices, she is talking about Neal Schultz, MD, a dermatologist in NYC. In the article it says Dr. Schultz recommends medicated shampoos and it should have active ingredients like salicylic acid, tar, zinc or selenium sulfide.

Though Dr. Schultz did not mention Nizoral shampoo and Selsun Blue, i was able to read on Amazon that she is using Selsun Blue and Nizoral shampoo. She recommends using the ingredients of Nizoral shampoo which is Ketoconazole 1% and when combine with the ingredient of Selsun Blue which is also Selenium Sulfide 1% it will surely get rid of dandruff fast ..

Itchy Bump Solution ? Try Nizoral Shampoo the best dandruff shampoo or Selsun Blue, personally i will buy Nizoral Shampoo but it will be by February 23 since now im still using Virgin Coconut oil for hair to remove my dandruff problem which you can watch in my video blog progress.

From the article, I learned that the itchy bumps on my scalp is called seborrheic folliculitis, it is still dandruff but instead on the scalp, the problem is in the hair follicle or the sebaceous glands (hehe please do Google them these are weird words for me too). Seborrheic folliculitis is an inflammation which histamine is released.. and histamine causes the itching... since the oil or histamine is  a foreign or alien or say not normal to the scalp skin or skin... the skin tries to inflame the oil/histamine thus making a bump or swelling, but the itching itself is caused by the histamine/oil. hahah we got lost there right?

First reading it makes me confused but after reading it again and again it seemed to be clear now...

Okay, i will try to write it in order, i hope i get it right

1. There is an over production of oil from the sebaceous glands
2. The skin reacts by inflaming the oil thus forming the bump or swell

3. The reaction is called Seborrheic folliculitis which a foreign material called histamine is released
4. Histamine causes the itching ...

I pray i arrange the concept correctly? Pardon in advance .....

I scratch my scalp, so more itching, more itching, more scratching, so my scalp burst into wound and its painful then for now I'm using coconut oil for hair and so far its effective and my scalp is not itching anymore though the bumps are still there...

So, now its clear to me that its not really scalp psoriasis but hey man, the symptoms are almost the same and the pictures looks similar too...

Is Dandruff Contagious ?

Often we ask ourselves Is Dandruff contagious ? I believe we are not born with a dandruff problem and we notice dandruff only as we grow older and more aware of white things that are starting to fall down as we comb our hair. Personally i noticed dandruff when I was working way back 2005 in a Japanese firm, but way back high school and college I can't recall i have dandruff problem or shall we say severe dandruff problem, im not saying i dont have it but i believe it was not noticeable yet.

Way back 2005, I have a girlfriend that her dandruff is really severe, like you can really see the flakes coming out, but it seems she is not aware of it. One time we ride to the city, and i was asking her, about it, and she was shocked i noticed it, then i told her its really visible even from 4 meters away. So is her Dandruff contagious and started transferring to me? We never did came so close often and i believe that we have the same computer work that it think is contributing to my dandruff, also our office mates mostly have dandruff.

I read on the internet that Dandruff  can contagious, or i'd like to clarify to you that the word they use is infectious ... it says it can be infection if the glands become inflamed and secrets flaky scales. Sadly my scalp have some swollen skin tissues that sometimes i can peel flakes like the size of my finger nails, and its painful and these scalp flaking makes my scalp really itchy.

Again from the net, it says children below 10 years old have this ringworm as the cause of their dandruff, so they say it becomes contagious but for adults dandruff is NOT Contagious.

Malassezia as i read on the net is also the fungus that is responsible for dandruff problem and its not contagious since you can get it by yourself but I always ask myself if using a common comb helps transfer the fungus ? I always use a common comb, and sometimes borrow my sister's pink fine tooth comb to scratch my itchy scalp to get off the flakes.

Dandruff is not contagious and there are environmental and personal factors that is contributing to dandruff growth such as poor hygiene, exposure on extreme temperatures, too much sweating, bad diet, overdue stress, insufficient washing of scalp after using shampoo, and some shampoo can also irritate your scalp instead of treating your dandruff.

Having learned that dandruff is not contagious, do you think we should also ask how to get dandruff easily instead of just asking how to get rid of dandruff fast ...??

So the last question would be, what do you think is the best dandruff remedy? and what is the best dandruff shampoo for you?
